The “Hospital Murals and Space Project” focuses on using visual art such as painting, murals, and installations to transform healthcare spaces. By collaborating with healthcare institutions and public health professionals, we aim to create visually stimulating and comforting atmospheres for visitors, patients, and staff. This project involves patients and the community in the creative process, encouraging collaboration between patients, family, staff, and our professional team of artists. The goal is to foster a sense of ownership and connection to the space. Patients are taught to use colors, patterns, and themes to evoke positive emotions, reduce stress, and create a sense of calm and hope, which can positively influence their overall healing.

Over the years, in partnership with the National Sickle Cell Foundation, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Tide Foundation, and the U.S. State Department, we have transformed the mental health and pediatric wards in various healthcare spaces, including the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, The Bone Marrow Transplant Units, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Center in Lagos, and the National Sickle Cell Centre in Lagos, Nigeria and other Partner organizations.
